Student Senators Each student at UNI is represented by a member of the NISG Senate. Each Senate member is responsible for representing 300 student attending UNI. They are apportioned between off-campus and on-campus residents. On-campus seats include representatives from each residence hall and at-large on-campus senators.

The NISG Student Senators are the "voice" to which UNI students can go to inorder to express their concerns and views on an array of student affairs topics. Student Senators are a dynamic group of individuals committed to improving and maintaining the quality of student life at the University of Northern Iowa.

NISG Committees Each NISG Student Senator is also a member of one of the four NISG Senate Standing Committees. Non-Senate members may also be appointed to serve on the committees. These committees are the Organization & Finance Committee, the Government & Legislative Affairs Committee, the Student Affairs Committee, and the Public Relations & Programming Committee.

Senate Agendas Senate agendas are prepared by the Speaker of the Senate. The agendas determine the order of business for the weekly Senate meetings.
