Did you know?
There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.
--Mark Twain
1. 85% of Fortune 500 executives are Greek
2. Of the nation's 50 largest corporations, 43 are headed by fraternity men
3. 76% of U.S. Congressmen and Senators are Greek
4. All but two U.S. Presidents and two Vice Presidents since 1825 have been Greek
5. 85% of the U.S. Supreme Court Justices since 1800 have been Greek
6. 63% of the U.S. President's cabinet members since 1900 are Greek
7. U.S. Department of Education studies have shown that just over 50% of students in colleges and universities go on to graduate, while members of fraternities and sororities graduate at a rate in excess of 70%.
8. Nationwide, 62% of fraternity and sorority members are involved with at least one student organization outside of their chapter.
9. 228 UNI Greeks had a 3.0 GPA or higher for the fall 2001, that is approximately 45% of the Greek student population.
From these statistics, it is easy to see that membership
in a Greek organization can lead to overall achievement
and success during college.
