  • Keeping track of the chapter's current members (i.e. increase/decrease in membership, percent of males and females, year in school, major, current and permanent address, email address, and date of membership expiration)
  • Collect membership dues (both national and local dues); remind unpaid members to pay their dues.
  • Fill out membership forms and have it signed by the advisor, transfer local dues to the VP of Finance and send out membership forms and national dues to the National office
  • Manage the Point System (when activated)

  •     - Sign-In sheet at meetings, events, fundraisers, socials, etc.
        - In the event that the VP of Human Relations can not attend, assign another officer to distribute the sign-in sheet.
  • Manage the New Member chair to recruit new members and run the new member meeting
  • Manage the Alumni relations chair - keeps track of graduated members (i.e. location, career status, etc.) and sells the benefits of Bridge Membership to graduation seniors
  • Submit Membership section of the Chapter Plan and the Annual Report
Requirements: Understands how to use Microsoft Excel, Well-Organized, Punctual, can attend all general and e-board meetings.


vice president of operations


  • Recruiting speakers to speak at general meetings
  • Running the general meeting along with the President
  • Communicating information to the general members
  • Coordinating activities with other groups (i.e. AMA of Wartburg, UNI PRSSA, MISA)
  • Developing and coordinating workshops such as the resume workshop, etiquette dinner
  • Update the organization calendar on the UNI AMA web page
  • Submit Professional Development section of the Chapter Plan and Annual Report
Requirements: Able to speak to a large group of people, motivated to contact potential speakers, organized, punctual, and able to attend all general and e-board meetings


vice president of fundraising


  • Designing potential fundraising efforts
  • Organizing and performing established fundraising efforts

  •     - Fall and Spring Success Kits
        - UNI Dome Concession Stand for selected events
        - Valentines Day Raffle
  • Develop, manage, and communicate with the fundraising committee to attain donations from local business
  • Keep track of revenue, expenses, and profit from each fundraising activity to be submitted to the VP of Finance
  • Submit Fundraising Section of the Chapter Plan and Annual Report
Requirements: Creative in designing the Success Kit Flyer, motivated to raise money for AMA, organized, punctual, able to speak before a group of people, attend all general and e-board meetings



vice president of communications


  • Sending an email about planned activities of the week to Linda Corbin by the Sunday night so that she will distribute that information to all business majors through the CBA Announcement email
  • Sending an email about planned activities of the week to the AMA list server at AMA-list@uni.edu Sunday or Monday morning.
  • Develop, print, and distribute posters about planned activities around the CBB by the Friday before AMA meetings or events.
  • Develop table-tents to place on tables in dining centers and the union to advertise a major speaker or event
  • Distribute fliers to be placed all around the UNI campus to advertise a major speaker or event
  • Set up a committee to do chalk talk (advertising activities on the chalkboards of the CBB) on Monday afternoons.
  • Keep the web master informed of coming activities to post on the UNI AMA homepage
  • Submit the Communications section of the Chapter Plan and Annual Report
Requirements: Knowledgeable of either graphic design or word processing software, knowledgeable of proper usage of punctuation and grammar, have time to distribute posters and send emails, organized, and motivated to spread the word about AMA, and attend all general and e-board meetings



vice president of finance


  • Developing and enforcing a budget for each Vice President
  • Distributing the estimated budget to each Vice President
  • Collecting receipts of all expenses from each Vice President and then using the receipts to monitor the spending of activities of each VP
  • Always maintain the checkbook balance
  • Solicit funds and fill out paperwork for:

  •     - NISG to be given money for communicating efforts derived from the NISG budget allocated for student organizations
        - UNI Intercollegiate Academics Fund for expenses for Nationals
        - College of Business Norwest Fund for expenses for Nationals
  • Collect revenue/expenses information from the VP of Fundraising and deposit profits into savings account
  • Maintain the University account by contacting Vince Huer in the Controllers office
  • Collect local membership fees from the VP of Human Relations and deposit local dues into account
  • Keep an inventory of all purchased assets
  • Change and transfer the names of the checking account into the new VP of Finance
  • Submit the Income Statement of Accounts for the Chapter Plan and Annual Report
Requirements: Knowledgeable of Microsoft Excel, transportation to any branch of the John Deere Credit Union, organized, detail oriented, responsible, honest, and attend all general and e-board meetings


vice president of community service


  • Deciding on two community service activities the organization will participate in (one per semester)
  • Contacting the appropriate non-profit organizations to plan for the community service activity
  • Recruit new members to participate in the community service activity
  • Submit the Community Service section of the Chapter Plan and Annual Report
Requirements: Organized, motivated to be involved, attends all general and e-board meetings

  • Planning social events such as bowling or playing volleyball
  • Coordinating window painting on Homecoming Week
  • Reserving plane tickets and rooms for the AMA National Conference
  • Designing and managing the chapters' exhibit at the AMA National Conference
  • Designing the T-shirt and manage the activities needed to create and sell shirts to members
