UNI spring MAP-Works contributes to new student success

Between January 31 and February 21, 2012, new freshmen at UNI are strongly urged to increase their chances of social and academic success by taking the 15-minute MAP-Works (Making Achievement Possible) spring survey. Ninety-two percent of UNI freshmen took the Fall 2012 survey. Immediately after taking the spring survey each student receives an individualized, confidential report that includes valuable feedback, recommendations and information related to succeeding in college.

UNI employees honored at 2012 Student Affairs luncheon

Sue Follon Exemplary Service Awards were presented to four Student Affairs employees at the Student Affairs Division annual luncheon January 5. The award recipients are nominated by their peers and exemplify high ideals for job performance and service to students. Each has had a positive influence on co-workers and elevated the reputation of their work group, their department and the Student Affairs Division. The award is named for Dr. Sue Follon.

Redeker scheduled to expand

With the addition of Panther Village, the Department of Residence is also expecting an increased need for more seating and service at Redecker Center.  To accommodate this need, the Redecker Expansion Project is set to begin at the end of the spring semester.  The project has two phases.  The first phase would expand Biscotti's convenience store and add approximately 75 seats in the Piazza.  Phase I is expected to begin in the spring and be completed by January of 2013.
 

Lyn Redington to serve as Interim Dean of Students

With the departure of Jon Buse on November 22, Lyn Redington, Director of Residence Life, will be serving as UNI’s Interim Dean of Students.  Lyn will retain her current position, as well as serving in this new role until a new Dean of Students can be hired sometime this summer.
