The Department of Educational Leadership and Postsecondary Education, along with the Division of Student Affairs, are proud to announce the third annual Student Affairs Preview Day, to be held on November 9, 2012, on the UNI campus.
David Towle, Director of Counseling Services, has recently announced that Dr. Ruby Casiano has successfully completed all requirements to be licensed as a psychologist in the state of Iowa, effective June 4, 2012. Licensure is granted by the Iowa Department of Public Health, Bureau of Professional Licensure, following completion of an approved doctoral program in psychology, completion of a 2,000 hour pre-doctoral internship, one year of supervised post-doctoral clinical experience, and passing the national Examination for Professional Practice of Psychology (EPPP). Dr.
Sean Willett, a graduate of Valdosta State University in Georgia, has been appointed Sport Clubs Coordinator at WRS. According to WRS Director Kathy Green, there many qualified applicants and it was a very competitive (and time consuming) process. Special thanks go out to search chair Kristi O'Brien and search committee members Barb Shepard, Cindy Klatt, Mike Bobeldyk, Marcus Norris and Nick Maddix. Please take a moment to welcome Sean to campus.
On Wednesday, October 10, UNI will host the 2012 Iowa Regents Institutions Disability Awareness Summit in the Commons Ballroom and Lounge. The day-long event will include a keynote session in the morning focusing on Accessible/Assistive Technology, and a variety of break-out sessions in the afternoon, covering topics such as Student Disability Services & Universal Design in Learning, and Employee Disability and Wellness. Faculty, staff and students are all invited to attend.
