Redeker scheduled to expand

With the addition of Panther Village, the Department of Residence is also expecting an increased need for more seating and service at Redecker Center.  To accommodate this need, the Redecker Expansion Project is set to begin at the end of the spring semester.  The project has two phases.  The first phase would expand Biscotti's convenience store and add approximately 75 seats in the Piazza.  Phase I is expected to begin in the spring and be completed by January of 2013.
 

UNI Student Health Clinic Laboratory receives COLA accreditation

UNI Student Health Clinic Laboratory has met all criteria for renewed accreditation by COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization.  Accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey.  In addition to receiving a two-year accreditation, the lab also received the Laboratory Excellence Award.  This was given to the UNI Student Health Clinic laboratory for its outstanding performance i

Jon Buse is completing his service to UNI as the Dean of Students in early December.  At a farewell reception November 14, staff, faculty, students, former colleagues and alumni gathered to acknowledge the impact he has had at UNI.  Jon will continue his career as Dean of Students at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.  An article in the Nothern Iowan includes comments from presenters at the farewell event and photos.  Good luck, Jon!
