UNI Wins National MAP-Works Marketing Award
The University of Northern Iowa has been named recipient of the "2012 MAP-Works Excellence Award - Marketing" by Educational Benchmarking, Incorporated, a higher education consulting firm. UNI won in the "large campus" category. The award recognizes UNI's innovative marketing plan and execution, related to engaging first-year students in participating in the MAP-Works survey program during fall 2011 and spring 2012. The results of the "It's All About You!" marketing plan and execution included 92% response rate in Fall 2011 and 75% response rate in Spring 2012.
Members of the UNI MAP-Works Oversight Team who worked with the university's residence life staff to design the plan included Alisha Scaggs, Anthony Smothers, Kristin Moser, Kristin Woods, Kathy Peters, Donna Vinton, Chris Neuhaus, April Chatham-Carpenter and Drake Martin. Residence life coordinators and graduate assistants who worked with resident assistants to execute most of the marketing plan included Amanda Mesirow, Keniese Evans, Leah Reuber, Brock Severson, Deb McConahie, Jeremy Ward, Allison Lyon, Nick Landmesser, David Schmid, Ashley Hartnett, Adrienne Appler, David Benham and Chavel Alley.
The award will be presented at the annual MAP-Works conference in Indianapolis in July 2012.
