Department of Residence public artwork is produced on campus by UNI students, alumni

Posted on Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

The Department of Residence Panther Village public artwork, Bowers, is being fabricated this summer in the sculpture studio on the University of Northern Iowa campus.  Lynn Basa, a Chicago-based artist and educator, was selected to design the artwork.  When she visited campus and saw the technical and physical capacity of the sculpture studio, she initiated a collaboration that would benefit UNI students and, at the same time, contribute to the local economy with the local purchase of materials and labor.  Photos of the project progress were taken in mid-July and accompany this article produced by University Relations.
