Twenty exchange students participate in International Student Preview Day (with photos)

Posted on Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

International Admissions' 11th annual International Student Preview Day took place on April 1. This unique event offers international exchange students across Iowa the opportunity to learn about UNI, college life in the United States, UNI's admissions process and scholarship opportunities, major/career options and the chance to meet current and other prospective UNI international students. More than 20 international exchange students from countries such as Haiti, Japan and Russia participated in this event.

The International Student Promoters group helped by giving campus tours, speaking with students and offering the UNI international student perspective on living in Cedar Falls. By encouraging students from throughout the world to think about UNI as a choice for their higher education, the Preview Day correlates with the Diversity Matters vision "to create a more welcoming community that celebrates the unique contributions of each person."

Jackie McAndrew, International Admissions assistant, coordinated the International Student Preview Day for the international admissions office.
