Posted on Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Students from Gary, Indiana, visited campus March 26-27 as part of an admissions visit. The event represented the latest success of an alliance with Gary Community Schools Corporation which began nine years ago.

Thirty students and guests participated in campus tours, informational sessions, a tour of the community, recreation and interviews for scholarships during the two-day visit. High school juniors and seniors and three high-potential eighth-grade students were included in the group.

Ninety-eight students from Gary Community Schools Corporation have enrolled at UNI and have made significant contributions to the campus community through their influence and leadership. Sixty students have graduated with the benefit of this unique partnership.

Admissions staff members Consuela Cooper and Cyrus Nichols coordinated the visit.
