Long-time Student Affairs employee Drake Martin, assistant director of residence/education, was among six employees honored for their efforts to help the university achieve its diversity-related goals. Martin currently chairs the Student Affairs Diversity Committee and has coordinated numerous diversity programs on campus. He also contributes to a focus on creating inclusive communities in residence halls. According to his nominator, Martin challenges his peers to be open-minded and think about all sides of an issue, but always ensures a comfortable environment for everyone. His nominator also highlighted that Martin is genuine and caring, and his love of learning is reflected when he is with others.
“I’m proud of Drake’s commitment and hard work,” said Vice President Terry Hogan. “He is a creative program planner and effective educator who has maintained his enthusiasm for helping students to grow.”
