Student Affairs and Academic Affairs welcome transfer students
Transfer students had an opportunity to connect with campus services and each other at the Transfer Student Lunch, January 19, at Maucker Union. Student Affairs and Academic Affairs staff members hosted the event organized by Kristin Woods, Coordinator of New Student Programs, Dean of Students Office. “This is one of many ways we support transfer students in their new home at UNI. Transfer students bring different experiences and different expectations, but they all want the advantages of connections and services that will contribute to their success at UNI,” she said. “By the second week of classes, they have become aware of gaps in their information about UNI and the informal setting of this event makes it easy to ask questions. It is also a great way to meet other transfer students and add to their social network at UNI,” she added.
UNI welcomes more than 1300 transfer students each year. Staff members dedicated to transfer students services include Woods; Paul Sapp, Admissions Transfer Coordinator; and Josh Sankey, Academic Advisor Transfer Relations, Academic Advising.
