Nominate students for Lux Service award

Posted on Thursday, January 28th, 2010

The Dean of Students Office is seeking nominations for the 2010 Lux Service award. The Lux Service award is an honorary award presented to three undergraduate students each academic year. The award represents the outstanding dedication and service students have given to the University. The Lux is the official University seal; it illustrates a burning lamp of knowledge and the Latin word Lux, meaning light. It is conferred in the spirit of keeping the light of service to others burning brightly at the University of Northern Iowa. This award is sponsored by the UNI Alumni Association.

Please consider nominating a deserving undergraduate student by completing the online nomination form at http://www.uni.edu/studentaffairs/deanofstudents/lux. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. on Friday, February 19. If you would like to nominate more than one student, please submit multiple copies of the online form.

Nominees who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in the selection process. Please note that graduating seniors DO qualify for the Lux Service Award.

Three recipients will be recognized during the 2010 spring or fall commencement ceremonies. Additional details about this award and the selection process are available at http://www.uni.edu/studentaffairs/deanofstudents/lux.
