Nominate students for Lux Service award

The Dean of Students Office is seeking nominations for the 2010 Lux Service award. The Lux Service award is an honorary award presented to three undergraduate students each academic year. The award represents the outstanding dedication and service students have given to the University. The Lux is the official University seal; it illustrates a burning lamp of knowledge and the Latin word Lux, meaning light. It is conferred in the spirit of keeping the light of service to others burning brightly at the University of Northern Iowa. This award is sponsored by the UNI Alumni Association.

Student Affairs employees honored for diversity initiatives

One of UNI's institutional priorities is to value, promote and teach about diversity. An appreciation of diversity is an essential component of an excellent education. The recent Diversity Town Hall meeting brought the campus community together to assess progress on campus diversity initiatives.

Four Student Affairs employees honored for exemplary service

Sue Follon Exemplary Service Awards were presented to four Student Affairs employees at the Student Affairs Division annual luncheon in January 7. The award recipients are nominated by their peers and exemplify high ideals for job performance and service to students. Each has had a positive influence on co-workers and elevated the reputation of their work group, their department and the Student Affairs Division. The award is named for Dr. Sue Follon.

Career Services hosts Overseas Placement Service for Educators Feb 5-7
