I F - RESPONSIBILITIES OF 200:148 PROFESSOR

Your 200:148 professor will introduce you to important topics in educational psychology which include: learning/teaching processes, student motivation, and classroom management strategies. The emphases in this class will be on understanding the "why" of student learning and classroom interactions as well as becoming familiar with research findings about effective practice; in your 200:128 experience, you will see the "how" — that is, the implementation.

As it relates to your 200:128 field experience, your 200:148 professor will do some or all of the following:

        1. ask students to discuss their 200:128 experience within the 200:148 class so these experiences can provide illustrative material for 200:148 concepts
        2. give observation, reflection, or action research assignments to be completed during 200:128
        3. collaborate in the coordination of the field experience, including registration and orientation
        4. visit the PLS and observe a student’s lesson on invitation from the student or PLS supervising teacher
        5. confer with students and/or PLS supervising teacher if problems arise
        6. interpret the program to other university departments
        7. confer with PLS supervising teachers about 200:148 assignments involving allied field arrangements
        8. invite PLS supervising teachers to serve as resource people in the 200:148 course
        9. assign final grades for 200:128 based on supervising teacher's recommendation and completeion of required assignment.
