I D. - EVALUATION OF STUDENT PERFORMANCE

You do not get a letter grade for your field experience. Performance is recorded on a credit/no credit basis. Your performance will appear on your transcript just as do letter grades in all other university courses. In addition to an overall evaluation of pass/no credit, you will receive specific feedback on your performance from your PLS supervising teacher. This performance feedback will be provided to you using the 200:128 evaluation form. These forms will be sent electronically to you and your 200:148 professor by your PLS supervising teacher. A copy is also on file in the Teacher Education Office (SEC 159). You do not have to present your 200:148 professor with the evaluation form filled out by your supervising teacher; she/he will send this form directly to the professor.

Please refer to the evaluation form in Section II F - a rubric which defines the categories that are considered in the evaluation of your performance in the field experience. Performance in these areas is judged in light of the availability of opportunities provided to become actively involved during your field experience.

You will have opportunities to review your evaluation with your PLS supervising teacher and in most cases to receive written or oral feedback on your lesson. Your evaluation form, when completed, will be placed in your portfolio, and thus can provide helpful information for prospective employers about your potential as a teacher.
