I B. - STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
As a 200:128 field experience student you will be expected to:
- complete a minimum of 25 hours (5 hours per week), rescheduling missed time.
- display a professional attitude (i.e., behavior and appearance)
- record observations through journaling or other formats suggested by the PLS supervising teacher and/or 200:148 professor.
- participate in instructional activities under the direction of PLS supervising teacher.
- complete the Teacher Candidate Work Sample.
Activities that you may engage in include:
- preparing a bulletin board
- giving feedback on students’ papers (i.e., assessment/evaluation)
- preparing teaching materials
- developing a learning center
- instructing an individual
- instructing a small group
- instructing a large group
Although the exact nature and amount of time you will spend on any one of these activities will vary somewhat depending on the grade level, subject, and your PLS supervising teacher, all 200:128 students are expected to plan and lead two instructional activities. The specific details of what you will be expected to do in the classroom will be provided by your PLS supervising teacher.
In addition to the requirements above, all 200:128 students will be expected to complete a daily journal of your experiences at PLS and a synthesis paper in which you reflect on what you have learned from these experiences. Your 200:148 professor will provide you with details of these assignments.
