Housing Opportunities in the Council Bluffs - Omaha Region

Usually one of the greatest concerns that new student teachers have is "Where will I live?" There are many options for housing arrangements in the metro area.

Kathy Blecha has a detailed housing list that she provides at the orientation session. Included on the list are apartments kept open specifically for UNI student teachers, shared arrangements with new or retired area teachers, traditional apartment complexes, etc. Often times several student teachers decide to live together and share expenses. The interstate makes Council Bluffs and Omaha very accessible. In fact, the USA Today calls the area a "twenty minute city". Short term leases are available.
