The
SLGP is available to provide research, consulting, and training
assistance for state and local government officials and employees.
These services can be customized according to the request. In many
cases, faculty will be working with students to provide this assistance.
The SLGP is working with the University to provide the best Public
Administration education in the country. Through association with local
officials, students will get the opportunity to work in an applied
setting.
As our program grows, we hope to link students and local governments
directly through public service projects, in which public
administration students provide free assistance to local governments on
various projects. Examples of this could include drafting portions of
personnel policies, helping to revise emergency management plans,
developing performance measures, surveying citizens, etc. Any unit that
would like assistance with a project can contact the program.
