SIS Update #21
Here are four current news items about implementation of the new SIS:
"Plan of Study" major/minor worksheets updated
In the course of the SIS implementation, major/minor worksheets that are displayed at the Plan of Study website have been updated to reflect the 2010-12 Catalog. Because some of these had not been updated for the previous catalog, it is essential that these be reviewed for accuracy at the department level.
As you know, they are a critical tool for prospective students, high school guidance counselors, Admissions staff, academic advisors and others. If you have questions or need corrections, please contact Diane Wallace at the Registrar's Office. The Plans of Study (sometimes referred to as the "templates") will also be updated and reviewed but this will happen a bit later, and we will let you know when they are ready.
Several important milestones achieved recently
Special thanks and congratulations to staff in Student Financial Aid and Business Operations for completing the first cycle in the new SIS of student billing and financial aid disbursement. In one of the more challenging transition, staff work long and hard with each other, with the SIS project team, with ITS staff to complete the work, all the while tending to the needs of students and parents.
Special thanks to the new data warehouse and reporting team at ITS for getting our first major enrollment report from the data warehouse (from SIS) in time to meet Board of Regents requirements.
Training and refreshers set for those scheduling spring term classes
Some additional training and lab time have been set for those who will be scheduling classes for spring term:
Monday, Sept 12, Schedule of Classes Training (for NEW Schedulers or as a Refresher), 1-3 pm, ITTC 138
Tues, Sept 13, Schedule of Classes LAB, 1-3 pm, ITTC 138
Wed, Sept 21, Schedule of Classes LAB, 9-11 am, ITTC 136 (bigger room, so we'll allow more to attend)
Mon, Sept 26, Schedule of Classes LAB, 1-3 pm, ITTC 138
The Schedule of Class Training is for any new schedulers or those who would like a refresher (another option for the refresher is to take the online tutorial). Some schedulers may be comfortable not attending and just diving in. If need be, we'll add more sessions. The LABs are for real-time production help. Schedulers can come to work on their schedule. Rachel Jones, Patti Rust and staff from the Registrar's Office will be on-hand to assist. Schedulers can come to any or all LABs if they choose.
