UNI has begun the process to replace its Student Information System.
This is the computer system that supports areas such as Registrar, Financial Aid, Admissions and Business Operations and
the student and faculty services that they provide. This current system has been in place since 1982 and is no longer able
to be maintained, nor is it adequate for meeting our future student services needs in the internet driven world.
We are in the process of working with many of you to define our needs for this new computerized system. One of the challenges we
identified early in our planning was the concern that many of our staff have not seen what a new student information system can do
to help us deliver our student services. Before we begin developing our requirements, we thought it would be important to provide
an opportunity, for anyone that is interested, to see a demonstration of a modern web-based student information system.
On Tuesday, March 25th, we have scheduled two presentation sessions to demonstrate the new functionality available in modern student
information systems. These sessions will show how students would utilize these new systems to manage a great deal of their student
services needs, such as applying to UNI, managing their financial aid and other payment needs and managing their class schedules and
graduation requirements. We think you will find these presentations very valuable as we begin determining our needs for this new system.
Sessions are scheduled for:
