For Department Heads: SIS update #15
As fall term approaches, the SIS implementation continues. Here is some current news:
SIS "Campus Solutions Basics" training offered
Training sessions are being offered this month and will continue to be offered monthly for faculty and staff who previously accessed information through the old (legacy) SIS and want to continue to do so in the new SIS. If you do not yet have access to the new SIS (called Campus Solutions) and would like to learn how to get access and how to navigate for viewing basic information, please register for a one-hour hands on training session by clicking here.
Final student records conversion begins on Friday
The final conversion to the new SIS system is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5. The mainframe (legacy) will remain unavailable to anyone outside the project team for the duration of this final conversion. It should return to service by 7 a.m., Monday, Aug. 8. With this final conversion of student records data, some processes previously completed on the mainframe (legacy) will move to the new SIS. If you currently rely on any mainframe transactions for your business processes, you will find the list of transactions and when they will be deactivated from the mainframe here.
If you need access to the new SIS and have not yet been contacted by the SIS project team, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The new SIS will be shut down at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 so that the final data can be loaded. The only features that will remain available during the conversion are the Online Application for Admission, the MyUNIverse portal and CRM (recruitment).
Student financials are now live
The first set of student bills were produced through the new SIS on August 1 (as planned!). Thanks to Penny Becker and Kelly Flege of Business Operations and Stacy Spaeth of CIBER for their tireless work in making this piece of the puzzle a reality.
