Facts:
Whereas mergers of academic units have occurred in the recent past at UNI and may well occur in the future, we make the following motion:
Action:
That the University of Northern Iowa Faculty Senate appoint a 3-person ad hoc committee to draft, for Senate review and possible adoption, recommendations to the President for appropriate communication and consultation processes leading to any future merger, elinination, or significant reorganization of academic units. The committee's recommendations should be consistent with national standards for shared governance, and be submitted to the Sente by the end of the fall semewster, 2010.
