Present such facts as are needed to establish the importance of the problem your petition addresses and to indicate its present status: 

Whereas in 2009, the Faculty Senate passed a resolution that University auxiliary enterprises should receive no more than 3% of the General Education Fund; and

Whereas in FY 2011, University auxiliary enterprises received 4.8% of the General Education Fund;

Clearly indicate the action you wish the Senate to take relative to your petition, beginning with the phrase, "Therefore, be it resolved....": 

Therefore, be it resolved that the Faculty Senate asks that President Allen meet with the Senate to discuss auxiliary enterprise operations.  This discussion would include a forecast of when auxiliary enterprise operations might be expected to meet the 3% goal as well as a discussion of the President's plans for achieving this goal.
