Background:
The Category Review of Category 5 was completed during the 2008-2009 academic year. In order to allow for various curricular matters to get through the docket, the report was delayed from being forwarded to the Faculty Senate. The report does include several recommendations which will help in the management and strengthening of the category. Also included in the report is a SOA report.
Copies of the reports are included along with the response of the LAC Committee, which highlights several issues that should be addressed as well as the quality of the report. One part of the report which is not included are the course syllabi which are available for review in the LAC Coordinator office, and would be provided to anyone who requests them.
The Liberal Arts Core Committee is asking that the Faculty Senate accept the report for the LAC Category 5 – Social Science.
