For the next
four lessons, you will be learning about Genetics in a whole different
way. Each of the four lessons will be based on a different topic
including: Introduction to Genetics, Heredity, Genetic Disorders and
the Ethics of Genetics. You will mainly be working in groups of four, however, there will be exceptions where you will work in pairs or individually. The activities in this WebQuest are designed to give you a basic understanding of Genetics and how it applies to your life. For each activity you will follow the directions listed by taking on the role of different people related to the field of genetics. It is your job to complete the tasks assigned for you. Each lesson is linked below. Click on the first link to get started. Continue through each activity until all four activities of the WebQuest have been completed. You may also use the links on the side of the WebQuest to access any of the lessons. Before you start on the WebQuest, send one group member to grab a piece of butcher block paper from your teacher. Divide the paper into three sections. Designate a recorder to label the first section Things We Know. Label the second section Things We Want to Know, and the third section Things We Have learned. Brainstorm with your group to fill out the first two sections. Now click on the first activity to get started!
