First of all to start your
adventure about heredity there are a few things you need to do.
- To test your knowledge you need to fill out the genetic definations and genetic words activity sheets.
- You will look at the words on one sheet and then
match them with the definations on the other by putting the letter in
the blank.
- This will tell you how much you already
know and what you need a little more practice with.
- To check your answers come see me, I have all the
answers!
Now that you know all these wonderful
genetic words you get to go to a fun website to test them out!
- Go to a fun site for kids
about genetics and click on Heredity
- When you get there click on the bubble that says
"More about heredity"
- Watch all three parts (make sure your sonund is
on)
- While you watch the information make sure you
fill out the activity
sheet
- You can use the buttons on the player to "go
back to the start"," back 5 seconds", "pause"," play", " forward
5 seconds" or end if you need to review something, catch an answer or
move forward in the movie.
- When you are finished with the movie be sure all
your questions are answered.
- If you are unable to get to the website here is some information that will help you
in your adventure to find out more about Heredity.
- Remember to fill out the activity sheet that goes
along with it.
When you are done with the movie and activity sheet you can move on to
play the games to test your knowledge on what you learned. The games
you can play are:
- Heredity Game (Level One and Two)
- Gene Game (Level One and Two)
If you want a bit more of a challenge and have
finished the other two games you can try the:
- DNA activity
- Profiles activity
When you are totally finished with all the
activities use the Punnentt Square
activity sheet to test your knowledge even further. By filling in all
the boxes and then writing a ratio as to how often each trait would be
expressed. Example: 3:4 or 3 out of 4.
