Your firm has
been funding Cloning and Stem Cell Research for the last 18
months. However, their budget has been cut and can only fund one
of these major research projects. You have been asked to
represent one of these issues and debate it infront of a
committee. Using your personal research and the benefits you
think future research will bring, you must convince the committee that
the research must continue. Remember this is a mock debate and
you do not have to personally believe in the issue that you are
defending. Do your best!

| Divide
the group in to two even
teams. Assign each team one of the two issues to the right.
Each issue is a link to the specific directions and research help for
that portion of the debate.
Each team will have 30 minutes to research their topic and form their
side of the debate. They will then have 15 minutes to research
the other issue. Each team will then have five minutes to present
their case. Following the presentations, there will be a 5 minute
rapid fire question and answer debate. This is when each team
will try to ask question that could prove the other topic is not as
important as theirs. Have fun and happy debating! |
