In order for students to complete this Webquest activity they will need:  Access to a computer and internet, and materials for the students to complete their method of presentation they choose.

This Webquest was created for an eighth grade, science class, who were studying genetics.

After completing this Webquest students will know:

  • How genetic make up works

  • How genes combine to form new characterisistics in humans

  • Dominant vs. recessive genes

  • How eye color is passed

  • How hair color is passed

  • What a punnett square is used for

  • What DNA is and how it is used

Students will be able to:
  • Pick genetic combinations that will lead to a desired trait.
  • Determine genetic traits that are hereditary.
  • Determine outcomes of genetics when given two parents's genetics (using punnett squares).
<Be comfortable using language and terms to present to class
