World War I

Welcome to World War I! Hope you are ready for an adventure.
It will be a bumpy ride; I can assure you of that. You need to have a pencil,
and calculator.
You need a pencil to write with, a calculator
to use when solving problems or making problems. You need your brain to
help you. GO AHEAD AND GET STARTED, AND GOOD LUCK!!
Your task is not easy. It will require
a lot. You will be looking at different statistics from World War 1 and
analyzing them. You will figure out many different things from just a few
numbers; things like percentages. You will have two worksheets to fill
out and then you will need to make your own worksheet. While doing all
this you will learn about World War I and have fun with it.
Now you are ready to begin!
Just follow these steps
carefully!
1: READ EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU BEGIN!
2: Now you need to print off the worksheets
and see what kind of information you need for those.
3: Start looking up any statistics
that will be necessary for your worksheets. You should use the website
provided. It will give you more than enough information needed. (You only
need to look up numbers.)
4: Worksheet 1: You need to do your
first worksheet now. When you are done with that, you will hand it in to
your teacher to make sure that everything works.
5: Worksheet 2: You need to do your
second worksheet now. Once again, hand it in to your teacher for checking.
6: You are almost done! Now you must
compile the information you gathered for worksheet one and two and make
a worksheet of your own. This needs to be typed so it looks professional!
You need to have between 5-10 questions. Use the worksheets I gave you
as an example. Use the websites below for information. Make sure you have
an answer key and all the information included that will be needed in order
to solve your problems. The problems must be algebra problems, look in
a textbook to get some ideas if you need to. When you are done with the
worksheet, give it to your teacher for grading.
For your evaluation on the worksheet
go to the Evaluation Page.

World War II
www.pics4learning.com
This is where you will need to research
to find the statistics of WW2.
1. You will find the ratio of Allies
aircrafts and German (Axis) aircrafts and compare who had the advantage
in the war with aircraft.
2. You will need to find D-day statistics
on ground troops of Allies to the ground troops of the Germans. You will
also need to find the total ratios for D-day for the Allies and Germans.
3. You will also need to research
about the cost of the war that the Allied countries spent and what the
Axis countries spent.
Compare the lowest amount of money spent by
a country in the Allied group and the lowest money spent by a country in
the Axis group. Do the same for
the most money spent by a country
from each group too.
To find the statistics you will need
to search on these sites:
4. After you find the information, put
it into table to compare your findings with other students in the room.
You will also compare to see who had the advantage the Allies or Germans
(Axis) or if it was even.
5. You will also table your information
found on the costs of the war for the Allied and Axis groups.

Tables:
You will be making these tables on a piece of
graph paper provided by your teachers. Above is a simple example of how
to set up the table (excluding total ratio) and the numbers in it are made
up. Make sure you also table the ratios of what you found for the Allies
aircrafts to the German (Axis) aircrafts. Also on that table the total
ratios of Allied Power troops to the German (Axis Powers) ground troops
on D-day.
