We need your knowledge.  Now that you have solved the mystery of who George's parents are, there is already another one we need your help to solve!

What is a genetic disease?
In order to understand what George has, it is important to know what a genetic disorder is.  Visit this site to find out. 

Genetic Disorders
Step 1:
Visit the following sites of genetic disorders and compare George's symptoms to the different diseases. Based on the similarities of symptoms, decide which genetic disorder George has.

Cystic Fibrosis

Hemophilia

Sickle Cell Anemia


Muscular Dystrophy

Step 2:
Once you have determined which genetic disorder George has, fill out your diagnosis titled "Dr. Mendel's Diagnostic Work" with the appropriate genetic disease. 



Step 3:
Next, using what you learned about Punnett squares from the last activity, decide who George inherited this genetic disease from (if you need a reminder on how to do Punnett squares, visit George's last mystery page titled "Discovering George's Heritage").  Complete the rest of the diagnosis and probabilities on the activity sheet.  All of the information that you need to complete George's diagnosis is given on this.  However, if you become confused you can always come back to the links here and review the diseases and the definition of what a genetic disorder is.
