Now you will create a table and graph using a spreadsheet. Because you are researching tornadoes, you will create a table and graph that represents the tornado frequency (amount of times they occur) of the ten states in which tornadoes occur the most often.

  1. Student Atlas of the World, by the National Geographic Society (pg 54), or

Here are the steps you need to follow in order to create your table and graph:
  1. Open Microsoft Excel and create a new spreadsheet.
  2. Label your table.  What three labels do you need for your table?
  3. Insert data into your table using the information from the resource above.
  4. Create a graph of your data. Highlight the numbers you want to graph and click on the graph icon in the tool bar.  Which type of graph would work the best? Follow the steps to create your graph. Make sure to include labels in graph.
  5. You're done. Great job!
