Design Your Own Bath

Greetings!  Your mission for today will be to design your own bath house.  Your  emperor has recently decided that he would like to have a public bath.  You have been hired to do research and present your plans for his new bath.  You will choose a role of designer or investor.  Then you will work together to come up with a final plan to present to your emperor.  Look below for more details on what exactly the designer and investor do!

Designer: Your mission will be to look at different layouts and designs of Roman Bath Houses.  From these designes you will come up with three different layouts for your partner.  Don't forget to add in exact measurements.  You will also need to gather information on the different types of materials that will be needed to build this bath house.

Investor: Your job will be to take the information that the Designer gives you and figure out how much everything is going to cost.  You will need to figure out how much you are going to need of each material and how much they cost.  Then you will come up with a final estimate that you will present to the Designer.

Together: Finally you will work together to put together a final presentation that you will bring before the Emperor.  This will show your final draft of the sketch of the Bath House and the total costs you will need to build it.

Note: It is hard to know just exactly the measurements and prices that were used to build Ancient Roman Bath Houses.  You are allowed to make up costs and measurements if you are unable to find them or you can search the web for what materials may cost today.  However, make sure you search first because there are some that are out there! Remember be creative, but be realistic.

Each team member will have their own set of worksheets to complete for this task.  The Emperor is counting on you to be successful and he has complete confidence that you will be!  This is an exciting task!  Good Luck!
