Introduction:

      
   * Students will analyze health related concepts and understand the

importance of making healthy life choices early on in life.



Content area and grade level
:


      * Drugs and Their Effects on the Nervous System, was designed for

8th grade students.  This Webquest focuses on the negative

consequences of using drugs, alcohol, and tabacco.


Student materials:


   * Computer with internet access, calculator, paper and pencil.



Evaluation



   * The students will be evaluated on the math activity questions based

on the rubric found on the Evaluation Page.



Resources



      * The information used to create this Web quest came from various

web sites and are listed on the Resources Page.



Conclusion:
      

    * This Web quest was created to better educate 8th grade students

on the importance of developing healthy, substance-free lifestyle habits

early  in life.

    5.  Resources individuals can connect in order to seek help with drug
         dependency issues.

What we want the students to DO:

1.   Create an anti drug campaign poster to include:
            
             A.  Know how to access resources for help with drug
                  dependency
             B.  Facts about drug use
             C.  Short and long term effects of drug use/abuse

2.   Calculate and work with statistics regarding smoking related
      causalities.
