The Rise of Nazism in Germany
This first came about with Hitler and the Nationalist
Socialist Party. With the huge war debts left from World War I, the
Germans were facing a large economic decline. Adolf Hitler gradually
began to gain power by promising the Germans that he would restore their honor
stability as a country.
The Racial Theories of the Nazis
This first began because of the National Socialist ideology
that "pure" races, the Germans, do not mix with the "inferior" races, the
Jewish people. It was also these beginnings of racial discrimination
that lead to the idea that the "white race" is the master race.
Anti Jewish Policies: 1933-1939
This was the time frame when Germany wanted to rid their
society of the Jewish population. In order to accomplish this, the Germans
began to boycott Jewish shops and businesses. Because this was occurring,
the Jewish people were forced abroad. The German people also stripped
the Jews of their property in order to try to force them to leave.
Auschwitz
This is the worst known concentration camp for the Jewish
population. It is well-known for contributing to most of the deaths
of the Jewish people and was one of the strictest concentration camps during
World War II. This was also one of the main concentration camps where
mass killings would occur.
The Destruction of European Jews
Jews were continually forced out of their land and forced
into concentration camps. Here, they were forced into labor, made to
follow German policies and German laws, and were beaten or killed if they
did not comply. Jewish people were often killed within gas chambers
as a method of mass killing. Since the members of the Jewish population
were continually placed in poor situations, the Jews began to fall and the
Jewish people began to disappear.
