CERTIFICATE PROGRAM IN
SOCIAL IDENTITIES, INEQUALITIES, AND INTERSECTIONALITIES (SIII)
Program certificates provide an alternative to programs leading to a degree, a major, or a minor. They certify a student has completed a program concentration approved by the university. Students can complete a certificate whether or not they have a major or a minor in Sociology. The SIII certificates allow students to earn certificates in the following four areas: 1) Inequality; 2) Race/Ethnicity and Immigration; 3) Gender, Culture, and Identity; and 4) Family and the Life Course. These four SIII certificates require two courses (Introduction to Sociology and Research Methods) and a choice of three courses in one of the four specialty areas for a total of 15 credit hours.
