USDA AFRI Informational Web Conference - April 15, 2010
Come to OSP (213 E. Bartlett) Thursday April 15th from 1:00-2:30 to learn more about the USDA Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI).
In late March, AFRI released requests for applications for six of its seven challenge areas, each of which supports an average of 10 programs. As the replacement for the USDA National Research Initiative, AFRI funds research, education, and extension projects that address key challenges in sustaining agriculture, including farm efficiency and profitability, ranching, renewable energy, forestry aquaculture, rural communities and entrepreneurship, human nutrition, food safety, biotechnology, and conventional breeding.
USDA Competitive Programs Specialist Pushpa Kathir will lead this web conference. Kathir will provide ARFI program details as well as advice for preparing effective letters of intent and proposals.
