On-Campus Programs: 31.5% of Modified Total Direct Costs (MTDC)

Off-Campus Programs: 13.5% of Modified Total Direct Costs (MTDC)

MTDC is equal to Total Direct Costs excluding capital expenditures for the construction and renovation of buildings, equipment with a unit cost or $5,000 or more, the portion of subawards greater than $25,000 each, rental costs of off-site facilities, Graduate Assistant tuition, and payments to or on behalf of program participants as an incentive for receiving training and instruction.

Off-Campus rate is applied to sponsored projects where more than 50% of UNI personnel effort is substantially performed in a facility not owned by the university AND to which rent is directly allocated to sponsor funds.
