Ethics In Organizations Symposium

University of Northern Iowa (south side of campus)

Cedar Valley Character Counts has partnered with the University of Northern Iowa, Hawkeye Community College and Allen College to offer this one-day symposium on the UNI campus exploring how employees and organizations navigate the challenging ethical issues they encounter on a daily basis. Individuals from all levels of business, community organizations and academic institutions are invited to join us for a keynote address by UNI’s new president, Dr. William Ruud, as well as panel presentations and discussion on such topics as creating an ethical culture, confronting your own ethical challenges in the workplace, and motivating ethical behavior in students and employees. There is no cost to attend but space is limited and registration is required.

Target Audience: Business and nonprofit community professionals, and faculty, staff, and students from Hawkeye, Allen, and UNI.

Cost: There is no cost for attendance or for lunch.

Registration: Registration is required through our online registration site. Participants may register to attend all or part of the day. Those who attend the entire day will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the symposium.

Space is Limited: Seating in the CEEE auditorium is nearing capacity. A satellite location has been added at Allen College. See Registration page. All registrants will receive a reminder email in early October with directions and parking instructions.

Symposium Materials and Follow-Up

Thanks to all of the symposium attendees for their participation and evaluation feedback. Evaluation respondents were overwhelmingly positive about the event and noted a desire for additional events on ethics topics. The partners do intend to plan new offerings in the future and we encourage anyone interested in helping out to let us know!
