Grant Funding - support for all stages of grant development and management - help finding funds from government agencies and private foundations - grantsmanship training.
Research Services and Compliance - resources and support for research and other creative scholarship, including planning assistance, mentoring, datasets, seed grants, symposia, Research Advisory Council - oversees research compliance, including Human Subjects (IRB), Animal Subjects, Research Integrity, and related areas - provides guidance and training for faculty, staff, and students on research regulations and compliance topics.
Intellectual Property - home of the Office of Intellectual Property - information about protecting intellectual property through patents, trade secrets, copyrights and trademarks - information for business and industry on licensing intellectual property developed at UNI - guidance for the use of material protected by copyright.
The Iowa Arts Council has asked UNI to participate in their arts initiative, "Arts Build Communities." Arts Build Communities is designed to provide support for arts projects that uniquely address civic challenges and community issues through the arts. The Iowa Arts Council will provide grants of up to $10,000 to local communities to carry out their art/civic community issue. Click here for more information.
Andrey Petrov has been awarded many grants from the National Science Foundation to study the Arctic. His research was featured in Iowa Science Interface. You can read about his research on the Taimyr reindeer herd. Petrov is an associate professor of geography and geospatial technology and is the academic director of GeoTREE. He is also the director of UNI's Arctic Social and Environmental Systems Research Lab and is the director of the Program in Research and Outreach in Geography between Russia and the United States. NEW OPPORTUNITIES: Iowa NASA EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Development (RID) funding is available for travel grants and partnership development grants. For more information visit the RID webpage.
Opportunities for Hands-on Experiences (OHOE) for Students: This student centered grant is intended to aid in funding undergraduate student projects in areas of importance to NASA.
