Best Overall Performance Award

The University of Northern Iowa Panther Battalion ROTC was recently awarded a tropy for placing 2nd as a program in 3rd Brigade. 3rd Brigade consists of 76 schools and the criteria on which each program was evaluated included cadet's LDAC performance, academic standing, meeting, and in this case exceeding, commisioning expectations, and more. The following pictures feature the trophy, cadets, and cadre.





Ranger Challenge 2010

The Panther Battalion was represented by two teams at this year's Ranger Challenge competition held at Camp Dodge, Iowa, A nine person coed team from UNI and an all female team from the University of Dubuque. The competition started early Saturday morning with an APFT and cadets went on to complete a 10k ruck march, an orienteering course, weapons assembly/disassembly, a hand grenade course, and much more. UD's all-female team was the first of their kind to have ever competed in this competition. UNI performed well in the sensitive site exploitation and orienteering events coming in second place in both events. Overall, UNI came in tenth place amongst sixteen teams while UD's all-female team came in fifteenth place. Fall 2010 Field Training Exercise

The following pictures are from UNI ROTC's Fall Field Training Exercise. Cadets from UNI ROTC and the

University of Dubuque found themselves at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa for a weekend of training. They participated in classroom instruction and a leadership reaction course, constructed a one rope bridge, completed an obstacle course, and much more. Spring 2010 Commissioning Ceremony

This spring The University of Northern Iowa's ROTC program has commissioned five cadets. These individuals will report to their assigned duty stations as Second Llieutenants in the United States Army. Below are pictures from the ceremony.
