LTC John C. Roadcap


 

 


LTC John C. Roadcap assumed duties of the UNI Panther Battalion on July 1, 2009.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania in May 1993.  He received his Masters of Science in Human Resources Administration from Central Michigan University in June 2005.
 
After completing the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, LTC Roadcap was assigned to Alpha Battery 21st FA and 3rd Battalion 82nd Field Artillery, Fort Hood, Texas from June 1993 to March 1997.  His duty positions included Platoon Leader, Executive Officer and Assistant Operations Officer.  While stationed Fort Hood, Texas LTC Roadcap participated in numerous tactical and operational deployments including a deployment to Kuwait for Operation Intrinsic Action, April 1995.

After graduating from the Field Artillery Officer Advanced Course, LTC Roadcap was assigned to the 212th Field Artillery Brigade, and the 3rd Armored Corps Artillery Command Group, Fort Sill, Oklahoma from April 1997 to July 2002.  While at Fort Sill, Oklahoma LTC Roadcap commanded Alpha Battery, 2nd Battalion, 18th Field Artillery and Headquarters Battery, 3rd Armored Corps Artillery.  He was also selected as the Secretary of the General’s Staff.  LTC Roadcap participated in numerous operational exercises and a deployment to Tirana, Albania in support of Operation Task Force Hawk.

From August 2002 to May 2004, LTC Roadcap was assigned to the Army’s Human Resources Command in Alexandria, Virginia as an assignment officer for the Field Artillery Branch.  Upon completion of this assignment he was then transferred to Fort Hood, Texas.

Upon arrival at Fort Hood, Texas, LTC Roadcap was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division’s Artillery Brigade, 1st Battalion, 21st Field Artillery, and the 41st Field Artillery Brigade.  Assignments included, Assistant Brigade Operations Officer, Battalion Operations Officer, and Brigade Executive Officer.  He participated in two Operation Iraqi Freedom deployments, one in Baghdad, Iraq as a Liaison Officer working with the Iraqi Security Forces and most recently in Al-Kut, Iraq as a Brigade Executive Officer working with the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Justice and numerous non-governmental agencies.

LTC Roadcap has completed the following military training:  Command and General Staff College, Combined Arms and Services Staff School (CAS3), FAOAC, FAOBC, Joint Firepower Control Course the Multiple Launch Rocket System Cadre Course, and the Airborne Course.
 
His awards include:  the Bronze Star Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), the Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster),  the Army Commendation Medal(4th Oak Leaf Cluster), the Army Achievement Medal (5th Oak Leaf Cluster), the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the NATO Medal, the Kosovo Liberation Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

He is married to the former Jeni Kuennen of Maynard, Iowa and they have one daughter and one son and currently reside in Waverly, Iowa.
