Keith Lostroh


 

 

 


Keith Lostroh was born in Seguin, Texas and is a graduate of Dumas High School. He received his commission through Army Reserve Officer Training Course as a Second Lieutenant in May of 1987 and entered active duty after graduating from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in May of 1988. While serving on active duty Lieutenant Colonel Lostroh served with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky participating in Operations Desert Shield & Storm in Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Later while stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and serving in units of the 44th Medical Brigade he participated in Operation Uphold Democracy in Port au Prince, Haiti. Subsequently after leaving active duty, he joined the US Army Reserve. Serving in multiple units of the 89th Regional Support Command, he deployed as a member of the 3rd Corps Support Command for the build up and first year of  Operation Iraqi Freedom. His current unit of assignment is US Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. This assignment took him back to southwest Asia as leading a joint team as a part of  Central Command in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, & Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa. After returning to the United States he joined the team building TRANSCOM Regulating and Command & Control Evacuation System, a computer program which the Department of Defense uses to coordinate all patient movements on a worldwide basis. Concurrently he is the Staff Coordinator for Army ROTC at the University of Northern Iowa.

He has served in numerous positions as a Medical Service Corps Officer. He has been a Platoon Leader in an Infantry Battalion, Adjutant, Company Commander, Operations Officer, Patient Administrator, and System Requirements Administrator. He currently commands a Medical Support Unit in the US Army Reserve.

He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. His military education has taken him through the Command and General Staff Officers Course.

His military awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism (Expeditionary and Service) Medals,  Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Meritorious Unit Citation with Oak Leaf Cluster, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Combat Action Badge, Combat Medical Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge.

He resides in Waterloo, Iowa with his wife Megan and son Aaron.
