UNI Family of the Year

The Family of the Year honor is a longstanding tradition sponsored by the UNI Parents Association. To be considered for this prestigious award, students must submit an essay explaining why their family should be "Family of the Year." A sub-committee of the UNIPA board selects the family of the year based on the essay composed by the students.

During Family Weekend, the Family of the Year receives special recognition from UNI President Robert D. Koob and the presidents of the UNI Parent Association. The family also receives four complimentary tickets to the Panther football game and Family Feast Tailgate, along with one night's stay in a local hotel. In appreciation for the student's time, he/she is awarded a $250 gift certificate to University Book and Supply.
