The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend college students receive an annual flu shot. The UNI Student Health Clinic provides a series of flu-shot clinics each fall. This year's clinic schedule is available at http://www.uni.edu/health/index.shtml The cost is $24 and can be paid by insurance, cash or charged to your student's u-bill.
UNIPA Scholarship recipients honored at Family Weekend The 2006 UNI Parents Association Scholarship recipients were honored during halftime of the Family Weekend UNI vs. SDSU football game. The students' photos and names were shown on the UNI-Dome's JumboTron. McLeod Center to open Nov. 18 Make plans to attend the grand opening of the McLeod Center at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18. Following the grand-opening ceremony, you'll have the chance to meet UNI's intercollegiate athletics teams and coaches on the Robert J. McCoy Court, and take a behind-the-scenes look at the newest arena in Iowa.

They should click on the "Privacy" tab and make sure they haven't inadvertently restricted their information.
A response to "There's nothing to do." UNI fields 18 Division I intercollegiate athletic teams and the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center (GBPAC) hosts 350 performances each year. The UNI u-Card (student I.D. card) gets full-time students in free to all Panther regular-season home games and gives them a 50-percent discount on Artist Series tickets at the Gallagher-Bluedorn. http://www.uni.edu/ucard/using.shtml http://www.gbpac.com/unistudents/index.shtml
$5 rush tickets available for many GBPAC shows For many GBPAC shows, $5 student rush tickets may be available on the day of the show. Students can sign up online to receive an e-mail notification when rush tickets are available. Notifications will generally be sent the day prior to the show.
How do students know what's going on at UNI? MyUNIverse Newsis the official source of university information for students. It's sent directly to students every Monday during the academic year via e-mail. Please encourage them to read it.
MyUNI Weekend is a weekly digest of weekend entertainment and activities on campus and in the local community. It's distributed to students via e-mail every Thursday morning during the academic year.

Send a hug from home The UNI Department of Residence provides care packages for students called "Hugs from Home." UNI Parents Association All parents/guardians of UNI students are automatically members of the parents association, which works as an advocacy group. Benefits include e-newsletters each semester and a parents' booth at orientation. Contact James O'Connor, UNIPA Liaison at (319) 273-6728, or james.oconnor@uni.edu with questions. The parents association also supports the Parent Fund, which supports student scholarships and activities on campus.
