UNI Recognized for Parent Hospitality
University Marketing & Public Relations recently received the 2006 Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), District 6, Gold Award of Excellence in Institutional Relations. The award is for the parent hospitality suite and related materials introduced at freshman orientation last summer. This new program included such things as a "parents-only tent" and the very popular "somebody loves you" cards that parents filled out for delivery during the first week of school. Thanks to all the parents who volunteered to serves as hosts last summer. We'll be doing it again this summer. We need parent hosts on the first evening of each two-day orientation session. See the orientation dates below. If you'd like to volunteer, send an e-mail to email@example.com.

Etched in Stone
Graduating from the university is a milestone. Within the next month you'll receive information from the UNI Foundation about how you can commemorate your son or daughter's graduation from UNI with a stone paver or brick in the UNI memorial garden. It's a great, permanent way to recognize your student.
Network with Other UNI Parents Online
Get the "real story" from another parent's perspective. UNI is proud to announce Panther Union, a new online resource for parents. It's online, easy to use, and best of all -- free.
Panther Union, is the exclusive UNI online social and professional networking community. There's a UNI parent group already up and running and you're invited to join.
If you're ready to join now, simply send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll create a login for you. When your student graduates you can stay in the Panther Union and continue to share the Power of Purple, or simply e-mail us and ask to be removed.
Panther Union is hosted and sponsored by the UNI Alumni Association. Access to the online community is limited to UNI alumni, faculty, staff and parents of UNI students.

Time to Reserve Rooms for Next Year
One of the big advantages of being a current campus resident is the privilege of selecting a room for the next year before new-student assignments are made. Students living on campus have received the recontracting schedule. March 19 is the priority recontracting deadline. /dor/contracting
