First presidential candidate to visit UNI Jan. 28-29

William N. Ruud, president of Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, will visit campus Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 28 and 29. His public forum will be at 3 p.m., Monday, Jan. 28, in the Old Central Ballroom, MAU. His biography and curriculum vitae are posted on the presidential search website.

2012 W-2s

W-2s were mailed Jan. 22 to employees not electing to receive an electronic W-2.  Note Box 12 new code DD, cost of employer sponsored health coverage.  This is the employee and employer portion of health insurance provided through UNI and is required information for reporting only, it's not used on your tax return. UNI is experiencing some issues with the UNI network. Faculty, staff and students may notice that the Internet connection is slow. Information technology staff are aware of the issue and are looking into the situation.

Emergency Evacuation Chairs

Twenty-three academic buildings on campus now have emergency evacuation chairs. These chairs are used to move people with a disability or injury down stairwells quickly and safely during an emergency. Cedar Falls Fire Rescue and UNI Police have been trained. Free biometric health screening

UNI Employee Wellness is offering a free Biometric Screening to all employees from 7 to 8:30 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 8, in 007/009 GIL. All employees who attend will be entered into a drawing for a 30-minute massage. Visit Human Resources for more information and instructions on how to sign up.

Biscotti's moves to Shull Hall for spring semester

Biscotti's convenience store and the Redeker computer lab have moved from Redeker Center to Shull Hall for spring semester.  Both will return to Redeker Center next fall in new and expanded space. Campus location, hours and service are posted online.

Panther Caucus - MLK Day

During the legislative session, Panther Caucus will be distributed weekly to legislators, alumni and friends. Thursday's Panther Caucus focuses on the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. UNI students, faculty and staff will participate in the MLK Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 21, in the Cedar Valley. The event is sponsored by UNI's Student Involvement Center. Mandatory reporters of child abuse training

A training session for Mandatory Reporters of Child Abuse will be held on Monday, Jan. 28,  from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in 252 SEC. This training should be completed prior to the student teaching semester.
