The Department of Residence offices will return to Redeker Center Monday, July 29. This involves: ID card services, room assignments, dining and housing administration, business office, technology, marketing, Fresh Beginnings and facility management.

Parking news

There are three significant parking changes for the new year.  Effective Aug. 1, the meter rate on campus will increase to 80 cents per hour.  Effective Aug. 24, parking and UNI moving citations will incur a $5 late fee if not paid within 10 days of issuance. This fee also applies to any violations paid via payroll deduction or student billing. The daily rate for permits used for conferences, workshops, seminars, etc. will be $2 for any dates requested beyond Aug. 25. Order parking permits online now to avoid lines in August. For more information, call 273-2710.

Are you interested in a Workplace Local Food Box program?

UNI Employee Wellness is partnering with Iowa State University Extension to determine if faculty and staff are interested in the Workplace Local Food Box Program. A food box includes milk, meat, eggs, processed products and produce, featuring products from local growers, creameries and processors. Each week the food box will have different contents, and will be delivered to the workplace. Participants can register and pay online through the food box website. The core Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program provides approximately 800 teaching and/or research grants to U.S. faculty and experienced professionals in a wide variety of academic and professional fields. West 23rd Street to close July 17

Connecting a new water main will require closing West 23rd Street between Campus and Merner Streets Wednesday, July 17 through Wednesday, July 31. Detour signs will be posted. Vehicle access to the parking deck will not be affected. The MET bus stop will not be accessible; riders should use the stop on College Street. For more information, call Steve Pavelec at 273-6165.

Deadline for 2013-2014 G Permit lottery

The deadline to submit names for either the Gilchrist G or the Multimodal Transportation Center G lottery for 2013-2014 is 4:30 p.m., Friday, July 19.  Make requests online via MyUNIverse or in written form to public safety. Written requests should include name, campus address and area of interest. The price for the G permit for the coming year is $406.20. Permanent employees interested in choosing the 12-month pre-tax payroll deduction payment option must be available between July 29 and Aug. 15 to receive notification of their status and purchase the permit. Rod Library closed July 4

Holiday hours for Rod Library are posted online. There will be no special vacation loans over the holiday. Patrons may check out materials and enter the building until 10 minutes prior to closing. Library online resources are available 24/7; if off campus, you will get a prompt to enter your CatID.

Time to file lobbying reports

Lobbying activity from April 1 to June 30 must be reported by July 1. UNI files quarterly reports on specific lobbying issues and the expenses incurred. The university's policy on Federal and State Lobbying and Political Activity can be found in the Policies and Procedures Manual at 10.09.
