What is your opinion of UNI campus restaurants and convenience stores? Take the annual dining services satisfaction survey. The access number is 124 followed by your university ID number. The survey takes approximately four minutes. You can evaluate one or more venues and return to the survey site throughout this week. Your input counts.

Civil Rights icon Angela Davis to visit UNI

Angela Davis, civil and women's rights icon, will lecture on "Finding Your Way: Organizing for Social Change and Human Rights" at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, at the GBPAC. Davis is also the keynote speaker for the Annual Conference on Human Rights on Friday, Nov. 8. For more information, contact Michael Blackwell at 273-2250.

UNI eBusiness Suite production upgrade outage

The UNI eBusiness Suite will not be available from 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 to 7 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11. This outage includes eBusiness self service and time cards. Webfocus and Discoverer reports will not be available until 7 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Twice-a-day mail pickup

Starting Nov. 4, if you get campus mail to a host pick-up site by 2:15 p.m. it will be in the hands of the addressee by the next day. Host pick-up sites are listed online. For more information, call Eric at 273-2828.

Print Services paper liquidation sale - charge & carry

A paper liquidation sale will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, at the former print services location (corner of Hudson and West 31st street). Paper reams will be for sale ranging from $2 to $3. Other products will be priced as marked. Bring an inter-departmental requisition form with a department head signature and an account number. Sale is charge and carry.

New policy review process

New and revised policies will be posted for public comment at the UNI policies site before moving to the Cabinet and Executive Management Team for approval. The Faculty & Staff International Travel Safety Policy and Student International Travel Safety Policy have been posted on the UNI Policies site for review by faculty, staff and students. They will be available for review until Nov. 15.

Important LAC advising announcement for spring 2013

The Liberal Arts Core Committee has approved an experimental course: HPELS 1059 Dimensions of Well-Being for 2 credit hours. Upon satisfactory completion of this course, including both lecture and lab components, students will satisfy the LAC Category 1D Personal Wellness requirement. Enrollment is limited. Leslie Prideaux named director of alumni relations

Leslie Prideaux has been named director of alumni relations. Prideaux is currently assistant director of programs for the University of Iowa Alumni Association. She will serve as president of the UNI Alumni Association, provide strategic direction of alumni association activities, manage university programs and services for alumni and will direct the development of strategies and messages for alumni communications. She will assume her duties on Nov. 18.

Legislative forum at UNI

There will be a legislative forum hosted by the Northern Iowa Student Government from 2 to 3:15 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28, in Ballroom A, MAU. Local legislators will be in attendance to respond to questions from NISG, as well as questions from the audience in an open forum setting.

UNI Make A Difference Day 2013

Volunteers will participate in various service projects for ASPIRE Therapeutic Riding Program and the Black Hawk County Conservation at local county parks(transportation provided) from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26.
