Robert Tabor's 'The Four Seasons' reception

A formal reception for Robert Tabor's paintings "The Four Seasons" will be from 4 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, on the first floor of Rod Library. The reception will include the unveiling of the paintings' permanent display location, the painter's preliminary watercolor sketches, information about the paintings, light refreshments and a special thanks to Edna Shain for the donation.

College Hill Farmers Market

Time to report lobbying activity

Lobbying activity from July 1 to Sept. 30, 2015, must be reported by Thursday, Oct. 8. UNI files quarterly reports on specific lobbying issues and the expenses incurred. The university's policy on Federal and State Lobbying and Political Activity is posted online. Reports must be filed each quarter. Homecoming parade and office decorating competition deadlines

The deadline for departments, offices or organizations to sign up to participate in the Homecoming parade is Monday, Oct. 5. The deadline to sign up for the office decorating contest is Friday, Oct. 9. Offices will be judged on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Sign up and find details at the Homecoming website.

UNIVA veteran photo exhibit in Rod Library

The UNIVA will display photos of military and veterans in Rod Library during November. Students, faculty and staff can submit photos for the exhibit. There will also be a memorial wall listing names of those military and veterans no longer with us. To be part of this exhibit, submit quality photos of yourself, family or friends in uniform, or names for the memorial wall to Kathryn Ira or to the Military Veterans Students Services Office, 111G Maucker Union, Plaza Level. Please include name, branch and rank (if known).

SGID mid-semester evaluations

Small Group Instructional Diagnosis (SGID) is a method of course evaluation that uses a trained, outside facilitator to conduct a mid-semester discussion with students to provide feedback to an instructor. Men's Basketball Tip-Off Breakfast

Northern Iowa Wishmakers fundraisers

Come to Cherry Berry on University Avenue from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25. Ten percent of the proceeds will go toward funding a wish for a child with a life-threatening medical condition in the Cedar Valley. Eat at Buffalo Wild Wings any time on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and tell your server that you're there for Wishmakers and part of the proceeds will benefit this cause.

UNI Electrical Peak

According to Utilities & Energy Management, UNI has achieved an electrical peak lower than 10 MW, which is the lowest it's been since FY 2000. For the next year our demand charges will be approximately $15,000 less than the previous year. Thanks to all for participating in this effort.

Mark Myers, biology, and Brittany Flokstra, chemistry/biochemistry, will present their Teach UNI projects from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 21, in 378 LIB.
